It's, very average and a bit mediocre. For developmental culture the district could use better preparation skills for kids in the real world

Very diverse and we have a lot of cultural clubs. I have made my own spot in this school by following my passions. We have a lot less higher level classes and clubs than other schools around us.

To start off Burnsville highschool was known as a great school, but suddenly dropped off and the beginning of the educational environment became terrible. I remember at Nicollet middle school on my first couple weeks there was a food fight and multiple fights between students and teachers. Now I’m highschool the use of weed in bathrooms is insane and the fights freshman year were crazy. The student to teacher relationships are very good the tools and opportunities live up to their elder name. It’s just the students that bring the school down.

While the learning environment is generally pretty good, and a lot of classes are offered, it could learn to excel more in respecting student voices. A lot of progress is being made through work with affinity groups, but discriminatory remarks by students are widely ignored and not punished.

Attending Burnsville High School as a Muslim woman wearing a hijab and being black presents a unique set of experiences. Navigating certain challenges can lead to growth, resilience, and a strengthened identity. Additionally, there are challenges to consider, such as the potential for prejudice, discrimination, and social exclusion. Limited understanding about Islam, hijab, and cultural differences can create barriers to integration and acceptance. Moreover, being a Muslim woman and a person of color means facing multiple layers of discrimination. To improve the experience, education and awareness about different cultures and religions, the implementation of anti-discrimination policies, and the establishment of support systems would be beneficial. Overall, it's important to address these issues and work towards creating an inclusive and accepting environment for all students.

The school was really good and they know how to bring the community together. The teachers and Staffs there are very easy to talk to. They are willing to help you in any way that you need help with.

I've been in the district since early grade school and have watched it flourish and transform into something wonderful. The people here are kind, and the teachers perform their duties with pride and joy. It's extremely diverse, and I would recommend this district to anyone in the area.

I really enjoyed my time here, the diversity here is amazing! There is an array of classes you can choose from and so many activities to take part in. The food is good, the teachers are great, and the academics is even better.

Academic instructions and help from teachers is one of the main reasons our Kidd's score is among the top percentile rank in the state in reading, math and science.

My school is a good place for students who just came to america like me. My school is described as diversity which they want student to value that. However, that diversity doesn’t make it any better. It only makes more divisions between students. I remember went to every football home games, students were sitting in 3 groups. White students aka popular kids would sit in a big group shouting and screaming. Black students would sit in another group as well as the cheerleaders are all black. As Asians students, we’re the minority. We blended ourselves and sit anywhere we possibly could. I first time in life get to see with my own eyes when group of white students started to throw the small balls to the cheerleaders while they were cheering.

My school has its ups and downs. I like our drumline and the passion that we put into everything. I like our theatre guild! We don't have much money for a set, but we still all build together and it really strengths our community. I think that some of my teachers could definitely care more about the students, but the teachers that do make up for the few that don't. I have always liked my french teacher, and the bittersweet she teaches with, knowing that they may cut her class in a few years due to financial reasons. My school is very diverse and has had its problems with racism and fights. I still love my school though, I like being a Burnsville kid! It has its problems like any school, but I can't help but see the good parts.

I think it is a well-rrounded community. It lets all the students feel welcomed when they are at school. There are sometimes problems but the students and staff all work together for the problem to be solved. The staff and students are very welcoming and included in everything that they do.

Burnsville schools, along with the rest of ISD-191, are no longer focused on academic excellence or the health and wellbeing of its students. Giving parents choice and allowing parents to put their kids in the school of their choice (in other districts ) Is as important as providing free and reduced lunches to students moving to 191 from other areas.

I loved how United students could be with teachers, there is a lot of diversity which is a very positive thing for a school to have almost neccesary.Sports are a very fun thing to do expecially is this school district, competitive but also humble. Something that I'd like to see change however is how the administration deals with certain problems ,other than that this is a very good and positive school district who cares about the well beign of its students

I started attending Burnsville Highschool in 2016 as a freshman. Burnsville started out as a great school (would have given it 4 stars), but with recent decisions has made it worse. The poor decision this district has made, is to cut all CIS classes and most AP. One thing that I use to appreciate about 191 is all there opportunities to get college credit for free. For some students this would be great help with paying for college, since most will be first generation college students of their families. If a student took advantage of all the opportunities offered to them and passed all the AP tests, they would finish with about three semesters of credits done. Saving a whole year and a half of college. But now that the school is cutting this program there is not much left to the school other then drugs and fights.

District 191 provides quality education to a diverse and welcoming community. My children are currently in elementary school but we've had great experiences at the middle school and high school. For example, the high school basketball coach and players worked with the elementary students at basketball clinics. It was so fun to see those high schoolers connecting with the little ones. Burnsville has excellent educational opportunities including small class sizes and a variety of class choices, has an amazing arts and theater program and an active athletic community. In my firsthand experience, I don't know how or why the district has a bad reputation. We've had nothing but positive experiences.

For years the online communication with grades has been horrible. We have ParentVue, StudentVue, Schoology. Why can't there be ONE system in this world of technology that we have? Grades are not ever current or accurate. One system does not speak to the other system showing inaccurate information thus parents have an inaccurate account of what their kids grades really are thus resulting in increased anxiety and emotions in the household.

This is an excellent school, the teachers try their best to inspire students and it is obvious that every single one of them cares about the learning of their students. It has a very very welcoming community, even when the students are reckless, the school does everything it can to improve the participation of the students.

Sent three kids through the district and could not be any happier. BHS recently established a new pathways curriculum that is getting national accolades, which addresses both those seeking college prep as well as skills to enter the workforce right after HS. BHS is #1 in U of M's CIS program. Wide range of extra curriculars. School of has turned diversity into a advantage. Love the teachers.
