IRENE SASALA, 78, of 21486 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, Ohio, died Thursday, March 30,1989, at the Fairview General Hospital, Fairview Park. The daughter of Michael and Mary Fustos Docs, she was born June 25, 1910, at Bagley. Formerly of Clymer, Mrs. Sasala had been residing at her present address since 1955. She was a member of SS.

Peter and Paul Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Homer City. Surviving are her husband, Joseph E. Sasala, whom she married on Nov. 14, 1927; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Dolores) Martin, Fairview Park; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Docs, Cupertino, one sister, Mrs.

Edward (Isabelle) Foster, Homer City RD and one half brother, Julius Nagg, East Bruswick, N.J. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joseph; five brothers: Elder, Theodore, Albert, Ernest and William Robert Docs; and one sister, Ida Rizzo. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 79 p.m. Sunday at the Frank T. Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana, where a Paras- tas service will be held at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Very Rev. Fr. James S. Dutko officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. FLORENCE IRENE FERRY, 61, of Blairsville RD 4, died Saturday, April 1, 1989, at her residence. The daughter of Charles and Mary Elizabeth Flickinger Fillmore, she was born Oct. 16,1927, in Herminie. Surviving are her husband, Elmer J.

Ferry; three daughters: Mrs. William (Pamela) Hrovoski, Export; Mrs. Robert (Constance) Gilmore, Bay City, Texas; Jennifer, at home; two sons: Christopher Blairsville RD William at home; one granddaughter; two brothers: Earl Fillmore, Derry RD Charles Fillmore, New Derry; and two sisters: Mrs. Regis (Mary Elizabeth) Campas and Mrs. Edward (Edna) George, both of Blairsville RD4.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: James and Floyd E. "Bud" Fillmore. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 79 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the McCabe Funeral Home, Derry, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery. FRANK J. MANZEK 73, of Oak Street, Indiana, died Friday, March 31, 1989, at the Indiana Hospital. The son of Stephen and Helena Kost Manzek, he was born Feb. 23, 1916, at Binghamton, N.Y.

Mr. Manzek had been a resident of Indiana for the past 50 years, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Indiana, and UMWA Local 1412, Ernest. He was a retired employee of the Coal Mining having worked at the Ernest Mines. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Jean Huber Manzek, whom he married on June 15, 1940; one daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Lee Bolt, Erie; one son, Frank J.

Indiana; three grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ted (Helen) Polasky, Waverly, N.Y.; Michael, Sayre; Stephen, District Hats, Mrs. Frank (Julia) Kocourek, Tempe, Joseph, Montrose; Theresa, Pittsburgh; Mrs. MaxineStadden, Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Mary Manzek and AnnQuatrini.

Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Frank T. Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev.

Lechner, Hillsdale; Mrs. James (Marjorie) Kammerdiener, Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Alvin and Ellsworth. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 79 p.m. Sunday at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Hillsdale, where services will be held at 2 p.m.

Monday with the Rev. James Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Rowley Cemetery, Hillsdale. THOMAS P. LYMPH, 79, of 232 East Pike, Indiana, died Friday, March 31, 1989, at his residence.

The son of John and Julia White Lymph, he was born Feb. 16,1910, in Denver, Colo. Mr. Lymph was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, Indiana.

He had lived most of his life in Indiana County. Mr. Lymph was a retired chief land engineer for Coal Co. Surviving are six daughters: Mrs. Walter (Mary Frances) Auyer, Fort Collins, Mrs.

Raymond (Nancy) Soliwoda, Southington, Mrs. Richard (Monica) Allen and Mrs. Marshall (Julianne) Mitchell, both of Miami, Mrs. David (Christine) Tressler, Harrisburg; Ms. Jane Wilkinson, San Diego, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Monica Reilly. Friends will be received from Sunday and 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m.

McCURDY 68, of Lu- cernemines, died Friday, March 31,1989, at his residence in Center Township. The son of Adam Harry and Mary Anne Renwick McCurdy, he was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Blairsville. Mr. McCurdy lived his entire life in Indiana County and was employed by Pellegrene Construction Homer City.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Surviving are two sons: Harry A. Coral; Larry Lucernemines; five daughters: Mrs. Donald (Shirley) McNeal and Mrs.

Arthur (Nancy) Helman, both of Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Michael (Judy) Galonis, Blairsville; Charlotte Boyer and Carol Boyer, both of Homer City; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Howard (Edna) Wolfe, Cherry Tree. (AP) An Aliquippa policeman and 11 others have been arrested in connection with an alleged gambling ring that police say netted more than $500,000 a week. Sgt. Joseph Catroppa Jr. was arrested Friday while he was on duty at the city's police station.

He was charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly placing sports bets with the gambling organization. Catroppa also is accused of providing the alleged gambling ring with confidential information on vehicle registrations obtained through his position as a police officer and of failing to arrest the group's members. (AP) year-old man who authorities say was in a stolen car when he stopped a stolen city bus surrendered to the Westmoreland County sheriff's department. Raymond Pinson of Monongahela said he did not realize he was wanted by police until he read about it in the newspaper.

Sheriff's deputies had been searching for Pinson since June, when he failed to appear at a probation revocation hearing. He was jailed Thursday to await a court hearing regarding his probation. George Fichter, 35, of Cranberry Township also was convicted Friday of simple assault, indecent assault, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment and criminal conspiracy. He was acquitted, however, of rape and involuntary deviant sexual intercourse charges.

Jurors deliberated lOVfe hours over two days before handing down the verdict. On March 1, Gregory McManus of Cranberry Township was convicted of kidnapping and rape in the case. Prosecutors alleged McManus picked up the woman in Pittsburgh last May, then met Fichter.
